Day wise plan
Day 1
Arrive at Zagreb International airport. Private transfer to your Hotel. In the afternoon 3 hrs private city walk. Taking a walk with you local tour guide will give you a perfect insight into the life, tradition, culture and fun facts about Zagreb but will also give you the opportunity to ask anything and get suggestions on what else to do, where to eat or shop. Start the tour by passing through the GriÄ tunnel which will lead to the shortest funicular in the world. Then briefly stop at the main square where a guide will introduce the history of Zagreb. The next stop is the biggest Croatian sacred building and one of the most valuable monuments of Croatian cultural heritage, Zagreb cathedral. Afterwards see the oldest open market on the site of the demolished old walls in the Upper town. Find out who is “Kumica” and explore the site of one of the oldest tradition among locals in Zagreb. See one of the best preserved monuments of old Zagreb and symbols of Zagreb in general, “Stone Gate”. Listen to one of the most interesting and unusual stories that lay beneath these old walls. Next stop is St. Marko square and church. Find out about one of the most influential kings, peasant rebellions and many more unique stories and facts from the past. Stop by the LotrÅ¡Äak tower and find out why the canon shoots every day and use the opportunity to take pictures at the best viewpoint in the city. Overnight at the chosen Hotel category
Day 2
Breakfast at your Hotel. Take an advantage of group transfer from Zagreb to Split with a sightseeing tour of NP Plitvice Lakes. At agreed time, our tour guide / driver will pick you up in Zagreb to start comfortable ride to the national park Plitvice Lakes. On our way, first stop will be a visit to the Homeland War memorial in Turanj. The collection is set up on a battlefield of the worst fights of Croatian army which defended Karlovac and proves the importance of Turanj as an advance guard for Karlovac since the period of Ottoman Empire. After this intriguing history lesson enjoy short stop for a coffe in Rastoke. This village respresents an excellent introduction to the Plitvice Lakes as this location is often called as „Small Lakes of Plitvice“ because both destinations are connected with the same river. Apart from astonishing natural beauties, Rastoke are best known for its little waterfalls along the SlunjÄica river and well-preserved mills and houses which represent the unique style of this region. Once arriving to Plitvice Lakes national park, begins your adventure of discovering the whole park area accompanied by our knowledgeable tour guide. This park consists of 16 terraced lakes, formed by natural travertine dams. Depending on the angle of the sun’s rays and the mineral makeup of the water, lakes change colors throughout the day, from bright turquoise to gray. Enjoy the walk and be amazed with the preserved nature of the area. After the tour your tour guide will take you to the local restaurant where you can taste traditional dishes of this area (optional). He will gladly make some recommendations for food, drinks or even suvenirs. After the lunch, starts your pleasant drive to your final drop off location in Split. Day 3
Breakfast at your Hotel. After picking you up at one of our meeting points or at your hotel, our excursion to one of the most popular sites in Dalmatia begins by driving along the border between the coast and the hinterland. The stories about the area between Split and UNESCO protected town of Trogir, takes you on a journey through rich history that the region has for more than 3000 years. Then it’s on to Krka National Park and Skradinski buk, one of the best known natural beauties of Croatia. Our professionally-guided tour includes a fascinating walk through authentically restored ensemble of small stone houses, workshops, exhibits and watermills which show how water used to make village life possible and sustainable centuries ago. Then we’ll begin our walk to enjoy the rich diversity of flora and fauna through a network of forest pathways as well as over wooden bridges. After about 90 minutes, we proceed to Roski slap, a beautiful, quiet, untouched nature area situated in the upper part of the Krka river canyon, perfect for swimming and relaxation. During the break you will have the opportunity for an optional lunch in a typical Dalmatian konoba (tavern) where you can taste traditional local food like prosciutto, cheese, hearty bread, wine and local fruits and vegetables. Along the way you will enjoy the same kind of breathtaking views that professional photographers capture to illustrate Croatian tourist brochures—like the panorama of Visovac Island. Then we say good-bye to the park and continue our trip to the seaside city of Sibenik, to see its main attractions – including St James’s Cathedral, which is UNESCO World Heritage site. We return to Split along the beautiful coastal road, passing by picturesque villages, such as Primosten and Marina, and beautiful islands. Overnight at the chosen Hotel category
